DOOR JAMS
Door Jam Stickers: The Vintage Warning Labels for the Blankest Panel on Your Car
A door jam sticker is a die-cut vinyl label made for the door jamb of a car, truck or van: the vertical panel you see every time the door swings open. Bumpers and back glass have been wallpaper since the 1970s, but the jamb stays blank on almost every vehicle on the road. Door Jams fills it with vintage 1960s racing-sponsor artwork and deadpan warning-label humor, so every passenger who climbs in gets the joke before they even sit down.
Where the idea comes from
The design language borrows from 1960s racing decals and record-label packaging: slab-serif type, caution stripes, aged paper stock and screen-print texture. Each label reads like something a safety office would issue, then undercuts itself. The full line covers eight designs, from Caution: Driver Sings to Hands Off the AC, and every one is printed on weatherproof, UV-resistant matte vinyl that peels off clean without harming automotive paint.
How to apply one
Installation takes about a minute. Wipe the jamb with a dry cloth, peel the backing, and press the sticker on from the center outward to push out any air. No tools, no squeegee, no surface prep beyond a wipe-down. Each sticker is die-cut at 5 by 2 inches, sized to fit a door jamb, and just as happy on a toolbox, cooler or laptop lid. To remove it, peel slowly; a hair dryer helps if it has been on through a full summer.
